You might not think it's possible to find very cheap car insurance these days, but it is possible. It all depends on a few factors. 1. If you have a good driving record, with no accidents and no speeding tickets, and if you don't smoke, you will be able to find a better rate at most companies than someone who has the exact opposite! 2. Where you live, and where you work, plays a part. If you live in a low-income part of town, and work in a low-income part of town, insurance companies take note of this, and typically charge you a higher insurance premium than if you lived in a middle class area. The amount of driving you do on a daily basis also plays a factor. 3. The type of car you drive also is factored in to what your premium might be. Unfortunately, some models of cars are stolen more often than others, some car models break down more often, and so on. Insurance companies have "actuarial" tables that tell them all these things, and part of your premium is based on the likelihood of your car being stolen or coming to a dead stop on the highway...just ripe for someone else to run into it! 4. How much will it cost to repair your car if you're in an accident? Top of the line cars typically cost more to fix, and so that cost is factored into the premium. 5. For most people, the way they get very cheap car insurance is to skimp on the coverage. If you get a package that has a thousand dollar deductible, you will pay less money for it than if you get a package that has no deductible, and so on.
